Beware! A clone Zerby is at-large, unarmed, and completely absurd.

This individual can be identified by his extended index finger and commonly used phrases like, "What WHAT??!!" and "I is means business!"

If found, please ignore to the best of your ability and report any further sightings in the comments.

Charlie's Bunion -- チャリーの腱膜瘤

去年の九月スモーキーマウントンズでチャリーの腱膜瘤をハイキングしました。下記の写真はそのハイクからの写真です。

In September of last year I hiked to Charlie's Bunion. The following Pictures are from that hike.



ハイクの始まりの直後です。その朝はスモーキーマウントンズでもやが掛かったんです。

This is just after the beginning of the hike. This morning in the Smoky Mountains was hazy.



これは、アパラチア・トレイルでニュファウンド・ガップ街道から、一番目の跡交差点です。標識の数字が他の境界標へのマイルを表して、ハイクの始まりからこの点は1.7マイルです。

This is the first trail junction sign. The numbers on the sign are the miles to other land marks. This point is 1.7 miles from the beginning of the hike.



二番目の跡交差点です。ここからアパラチア・トレイルで続きました。

This is the second trail junction sign. From here, I continued on the Appalachian Trail.



太陽が出てきました。

Unlicensed Remarks -- 無鑑札の寸秒

Hello everyone. I thought I would make an announcement that I have created an additional blog. It can be found here. It will be about my political thoughts, and it will be just in English; so no Japanese. If you like debating politics, feel free to post some comments.

I'll still be writing posts for here as well, but I thought the topics for Unlicensed Remarks would be better suited as a separate entity. Thanks always for reading and your comments.


こんにちは皆さん。他のブログを作ったことを発表しようと思っていた。ここで見つけます。テーマは私の政治の思想で、英語で書けて、だから日本語で読めません。政治のことについて議論するのが好きなら、遠慮なくコメントを張ってください。

ここでも記入を続いて張りますが、Unlicensed Remarksのテーマは独立体の方がいいと思うっていた。いつものように読んでコメントを張ってくれてどうもありがとう。

Free English Classes Have Begun -- 無料英語授業は始まった

English Classes have begun again. I started teaching English at West Park Baptist Church (8833 Middlebrook Pike, Knoville, TN) last year, and will continue teaching this year as my schedule permits. Classes are from 6:30PM to 8:15PM every Tuesday. There are a couple beginner classes, an intermediate class, and an advanced class.

I teach in the intermediate class. In the intermediate class, we go over new vocabulary, have listening/reading practice, have a fill in the blank exercise, and have a short discussion. There is also a break where snacks and drinks are served. In addition to that there is free child care for those who need it.

The classes will last until the summer and then pick back up in the fall. If you live in the Knoxville area and want to work on your English, feel free to come!


英語クラスがまた始まった。去年West Park Baptist Church (8833 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN)で英語を教え始めて、予定さえ許し続いたら今年教え続けるつもりです。授業は毎週の火曜日午後六時半からじゃ時事十五分までです。初級のクラスが二つ、中級と上級のクラスは一つずつあります。

俺は中級のクラスで教えます。中級授業で新語彙を習って、聞き取り・読解力、記述練習問題、短い英会話があります。その上、軽食と飲み物を出す休憩もいる人々の為に無料保育もあります。

このクラスは夏まで続いて、秋にクラスがまだ始めます。ノックスビルの辺に住んで英語を勉強したかったら、遠慮なく来てください！

During church service this past Sunday, the pastor of our church had a segment of his sermon where the read the definitions of "love" by children. One of the definitions was this:

"Love is when on Christmas Day, you stop opening presents and listen."

I hope everyone is finding a warm and relaxing day among family, friends, & loved ones.

先週の日曜礼拝の説教中で我が教会の牧師が子供によって｢愛｣の定義を読みました。その定義の一つはこれ：

｢愛とはキリスト降誕祭に包みを開けるのをやめて聞くことです。｣

家族、友達、愛する人と一緒に暖かくて心を和ませる日を見つけてるといいって思ってる

November Fireworks -- 十一月の花火

ノックスビルの中心に行って写真を撮る間に、急にブーンを聞いた。速くビルの向こう側へ行って、ビルの間から出てる花火を見た。何となく撮れました。

I was in downtown Knoxville when I suddenly heard some booms. I quickly went to the other side of the building where I saw fireworks being shot from in between the buildings. I was somehow able to take a picture of them.

This is my 94th post. The first post for this blog was more than 2 years ago. I have taken a few brakes now and again, but it has been a fun and new experience for me to have this outlet.

I have changed the template for the blog because I cannot stand the same thing for too long. I have used this template before; I think it will be a nice change for a little while.

One of the original purposes for this blog was for me to practice my Japanese. For all of the people who speak Japanese, what do you think? Is my Japanese getting any better? Yeah, probably not, right? (^.^) Because this quarter has ended, I will be able to spend more time with my Japanese books. It will be a nice intermission between finishing some anatomy & physiology classes and applying for graduate school.

For all of you who often read the blog, thank you so much for the comments and corrections! They are very much appreciated! Are there any types of entries do you enjoy the most? I have started a poll for you to let me know, so please vote and let me know, and thank you for those who have already voted! (Voting from people who don’t often read my blog is welcome too!)

これは九十四番目の記入です。時々数小休止してなんだけど、このはけ口があるのは楽しくて新しい経験だった。

私がことは同じに続けて嫌と思う人だから、テンプレートを変わらせました。このテンプレートを使ったことがあるんだが、当分いい変化だと思う。

このブログの独創的な趣旨の中では私の為の日本語を練習がありました。日本語を話せる人々はどう思う？上達があると思う？そうわけないでしょうね。(^.^) この学期が終わったので、日本語の教科書と時間を過ごせます。解剖学と生理学のクラスを終えるのと大学院へ申し込む間にいい中休みだと思う。

Fall Colors -- 秋の色

この写真はノックスビルとレノア・シティで撮りました。今年テネシーの木がとくに色彩に富んだと思う。数週前からすごくきれいだった。

These photos were taken in Knoxville & Lenoir City. I think Tennessee's trees this year have been particularly colorful. It's been so pretty here the last few weeks.
